Japanese Inspired Dovecote
Hand built from genuine reclaimed European oak, American and African mahogany, this three-tier dovecote was inspired by Japanese pagoda design with beauty and functionality in mind.
The dovecote is constructed primarily using wooden joinery. For this one we used reclaimed European oak and African & American mahogany, as per client request.
This one is a 3-tier, suitable for 3 pairs of doves. We accounted for pop hole size and internal space so should be suitable for all types of dove. We also made some removable EPDM tray inserts, making cleaning far easier.
Standing at nearly 10ft total, its well out of reach of ground predators. the dovecote itself measures roughly 1m tall x 500mm wide x 500mm deep.
Finished in a generous four layers of yacht varnish it has a long lasting, weatherproof finish and secured at ground level to a bolt-down post support with by stainless cables giving it a sleek look.
This setup is fully removable/adjustable, a great solution for location on the flat or slopes and a sleek alternative to a fixed post or a cross-base support but just as secure.
